The Asian Pacific Mathematics Olympiad (APMO) is a mathematical competition for
countries in the Pacific-Rim Region. The APMO started in 1989 and aims at discovering,
encouraging and challenging mathematically gifted high-school students. APMO 2019
was held on 12 March (Tuesday) and its result was declared on 9 June (Sunday).
RESONites from Classroom Program shine brightly at APMO. The Bronze cut-off was
Score 10 and RESOnite Nishvaan Sai H. scored 15 won a Bronze Medal for India. He
is the only student from Rajasthan to win a Medal in APMO 2019. The other RESONite,
who won a Bronze Medal is Anubhab Ghosal (he scored 14). Anubhab is the only student
from West Bengal to win a Medal in APMO 2019. 41 countries participated in APMO
2019, with 359 students competing. Where India was ranked 12 in the list of participating
countries.
Nishvaan is a regular classroom student at Resonance Kota since class 11th. He also
participated in the International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC) 2019.
Nishvaan said Resonance provides effective Study Material and aid required for the
preparation of International Olympiads. He added, "Resonance has given me the guidance
with proper training, appropriate classroom atmosphere, good competition and perfect
attention, which worked very positively for me. So, I would like to thank Resonance
for my success".
Anubhab Ghosal is also a regular classroom student at Resonance Kolkata Study Centre
and is studying in Resonance since class XI. Anubhab, who is a KVPY Scholar said,
"The preparation strategy at Resonance is quite unique and elaborative. The teachers
are very supportive and they keep on motivating you to achieve more. I will always
be thankful to Resonance for giving me that extra edge to this success".
