HOW TO SCORE GOOD MARKS IN ENGLISH?
Most of the students feel nervous and pressurize because of the board exams which causes anxiety & stress among students.
In this article, we are sharing some tips advised by the experts which can help you in planning and revising the syllabus effectively before the subject exam takes place.
CBSE will conduct the exam for 80 Marks. The paper will be divided into 3 sections. The weightage will be as follows:
• All questions are compulsory
• The Total time allowed: 3 Hours
• Maximum Marks: 80
Section: A | Reading
Tips:
• Read the questions carefully before reading the passage.
• Read the passage carefully and grasp the main theme of the passage.
• Identify the other main points of the passage.
• Practice one or two reading comprehension every day, 10 days prior to the exam.
Section: B | Writing
Tips:
• Revise formats at least thrice before appearing for the exams.
• Remember beginnings and endings especially in letter.
• Apply the policy of DIVIDE and CONQUER in letter and article writing.
• Web the story on given outlines carefully and do not go out of track.
• Keep in mind the word limit.
Section: B | Grammar
Tips:
• Get into the details of each grammar topic with rules and exceptions.
• For the grammar section, the main emphasis should be on editing, omission, dialogue completion. These grammar passages should be attempted by reading them carefully and understanding the meaning. Do not fill the blanks randomly without comprehending the questions/passage.
• For jumble sentences, carefully read phrases/ words to write grammatically correct sentences.
Section : C | Literature
Tips:
• Read all the chapters at least once. Try to memories the titles and authors of the chapter and poems.
• When writing answers, try to be concise and stick to the word limit.
• Attempt long answers first. (8 marks)
Time Management
• Allot an approximate time of 50 minutes for each section.
• Try to complete your paper 15 minutes before the end of the time limit so that you have sufficient spare time to revise, to check for any grammatical error, spelling error, any unattempted question.
Presentation
