Example:
• Name the metal which is low in activity series and exists as liquid at room temperature.
• Write the name and formula of its ore.
• How is the metal extracted from this ore ?
• Write the chemical equation for the reaction involved.
NCERT Class 10 Science Chapter 4 : Carbon and its compounds
Electron dot structure, properties of covalent compounds, chemical properties of carbon compounds, Homologous series, Soap and Detergent.
Example:
A carbon compound ‘P’ on heating with excess conc H2SO4 forms another carbon compound ‘Q’ which on addition of hydrogen in the presence of nickel catalyst forms a saturated carbon compound.
‘R’ One molecule of ‘R’ on combustion forms two molecules of carbon dioxide and three molecule of water.
Identify P, Q and R and write chemical equations for the reactions involved and also draw the electron dot structure of compound P.
