Every year marks an exceptional milestone for Resonance.
This year two Resonite students have won medals in the 12th International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO),
though this extraordinary accomplishment makes Resonance one of India’s best Institutes.
There have been no signs of slowing down, and finally Vaibhav Khater from
Udaipur study center and Abhinav Srinivas from Raipur study center have performed
majestically and grappled 1 Silver and 2 Bronze medals respectively for country and made us proud.
International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) final stage result declared on 16th August
2018. The Managing Director Mr. R.K Verma informed that the diligent efforts of
students & the faculty members of Resonance PCCP have resulted in 2 selections all over India. They represented India in the
Final stage which was held at Kanchanaburi, Thailand in the month of August.
Resonance Students has been performing marvelously every year in prestigious IESO Exam since 2011. It is conducted by the Geological
Society of India for the students of class 9th to 11th to encourage students interest and public awareness of Earth science
and to enhance the teaching/learning of Earth Science in Science at the school level.
The Geological Society of India is the body responsible for selecting the Indian Team for the International Earth
Science Olympiad. So far, the Earth Science Olympiad program in the country involved four stages:
(i) National level Entrance Test,
(ii) Training Camp culminating in the Indian National Earth Science Olympiad,
(iii) Pre-departure training camp International Earth Science Olympiad.
(iv) The Earth Science Olympiad (ESO) is conducted by the ESO Cell at the Geological Society of India constituted by the President,
Geological Society of India. The IESO is supported by the Ministry of Earth Science (MoES), Government of India as one of its outreach programs
for the promotion of Earth Science. The Training Camp is made for the selected students for about 25 days duration, conducted
at a university/research institution usually in May/June under the supervision of a Camp Co-ordinator. After the training camp,
the top four students selected to represent the country at the IESO shall each be awarded a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 5000/- and
Training participation certificate will be given to all students.
They will undergo another round of training i.e Pre-Departure Training at the Geological Society of India, Bangalore or another
designated place before their departure for IESO. The Team Leaders and Observers who will accompany the selected students and some
resource persons will guide and counsel the students besides clarifying doubts and engaging in academic discussions. The schedule of the
Pre-Departure Camp will be intimated well in advance.
All these achievements are the result of these two star students and of course the great mentor Mr. R.K. Verma sir and the veteran
teachers of Resonance that changed fancy into real.
