Students of Resonance has once again performed exceptionally in the Stage-1 of Kishore
Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (Stage-1). Result of Stage- 1 of this exam was announced
on 08-12-12. KVPY 2012 (Stage-1) was conducted on 4th November in major cities of
the country for the students of Science Stream.
Students of Resonance has continued their good show in this exam & 225 of
them has cleared the stage-1 of this prestigious examination which is funded by
Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India & administered by Indian Institute
of Science, Bengluru. 135 of these students are from regular classroom contact
programmes of Resonance while 67 students are from Distance Learning Programmes
& 23 students are from e-Learning programmes. Selections from Institute's
Kota Study Centre are 62, Jaipur Study Centre 23, Udaipur 16,
Mumbai 11, Lucknow 5, Nagpur 5, Bhopal 4, Ajmer 3,
Jodhpur 2, Delhi 1, Kolkata 1, Ahmedabad 1, Patna 1.
Institute's Classroom Student Yash Gupta had secured All India Rank -1 in KVPY 2011
(Final Stage) in Class XI (SA) category.
Total 1092 students of class XI has been declared Successful for appearing in Stage-2
which includes 1025 students from General Category, 56 from SC Category & 11 from
ST category. Similarly 1495 students of class XII has been declared Successful for
appearing in Stage-2 which includes 1368 students from General Category, 105 from
SC Category & 22 from ST category. 123 students of Class XII Pass (College Students)
has been declared successful in their category.
KVPY is any annual exam conducted for the students of Science Stream of Class XI,
XII & College going students. The Exam is conducted in two stages. Stage-1 is the
written test followed by an Interview (Stage-2). The Test is an on-going National
Program of Fellowships in Basic Sciences, initiated and funded by the Department
of Science and Technology, Government of India, to attract exceptionally and highly
motivated students for pursuing basic science courses and career in research. The
fellowship amount for School & College going students varies from Rs. 48000/- to
Rs. 84000/- annually & these students are also provided annual contingency grant
of Rs. 16000/- to Rs. 28000/-.
